The Planit Restaurant & Lounge

Culture ~ Diversity ~ Community

C.O.R.E Training is a program offered through The Planit Restaurant & Lounge.  It is designed to assist those living on the streets or struggling with mental illness, prepare for a career.  This three month program takes 10 participants and teaches them entry level culinary skills to put on their resumes.  After the three month course, participants receive a certifcate of skills completion, assistance in resume writing, interview preparation, a haircut and clothing if needed, and continued mentorship.  The Planit Restaurant and Lounge then becomes their reference when applying for work.  We are also interested in hosting training for at risk youth.

C.O.R.E  starts April 2016 and takes place every Sunday from 9am to 5pm with an hour lunch break (meal provided) in 1300 sq. ft of commerical kitchen with red seal trained chef's and volunteers. Our goal is to help motivate, encourage and direct individuals that need a lending hand.

We are looking for $24,000 which funds an entire year of training! Thats $35 a person a week which includes the cost of food for training and their lunch.  The remaining money donated goes towards operation costs to run the program (hydro etc.), staffing, certificate and resume printing.

Please think about donating.  You can access our page by copy and pasting the following:
